automation: 'the technique of making an apparatus, a process, or a system operate automatically.'

Process Control and Automation are general terms which cover everything that PCI Electrical Services sets out to achieve for our clients. The end goal of Process Control or an Automated system is to reduce the cost of producing a product whilst increasing reliability, quality, safety and measurability/knowledge of how your business/process is performing. 

Whilst it is quite obvious the benefits a business/process receives by increasing reliability, quality and safety, it is not immediately obvious the benefits that can be obtained by increasing measurability and knowledge. For example an irrigation system accurately measuring the amount of water and fertiliser irrigated to different areas of a crop provides the ability to decrease the water/fertiliser whilst still maximising yield. A well designed automation system will typically pay for itself in a matter of years whilst providing trouble free operation for many years beyond.

The other great benefit of Process Control and Automation is that it allows time and energy to be redirected to other parts of the process/business leading to further efficiency gains.
